The REPs team joined the SkillsActive Lounge at the Careers in Sport and Leisure Exhibition in Telford last week.
REPs Registrar Jean-Ann Marnoch gave a presentation and was also interviewed by a professional interview in front of an audience of more than 100 delegates about getting into the industry.
Taff O’Donoghue from the REPs Council of Members was also there, running a number of practical sessions for delegates as well as helping to supervise a one-minute rowing competition for visitors.
Young people were encouraged to take part in the contest, organised by SkillsActive, in order to win one of two iPods.
More than 5,000 delegates visited the Lounge area as part of the show, which coincided with the launch of SkillsActives’ new interactive careers website (see www.skillsactive.com/careers for more information).
Visitors to the site can browse video introductions and a job bank that offers an in-depth guide to roles within the industries covered by SkillsActive including the fitness and leisure industry.
