Bootcamps get marching orders Down Under


Councils in Australia have banned military-style fitness classes and outdoor workout group activities in a new code of conduct. According to a report published on Antipodean website www.stuff.co.nz such classes have been deemed as having the “potential to alienate other park users”. Park structures such as benches and trees are off-limits and large equipment like bars, logs, tyres and heave ropes are banned. Restrictions have also been made on the maximum size of a class cutting them from Fitness Australia’s recommended 18 to 10.
